What we collect
When you create an account: name, username, email, password (stored hashed — we cannot read it), date of birth and country.
Optional details you add later: profile photo, cover photo, bio, city, gender, school, marital status, phone number and interests.
Content and activity: polls, votes, comments, reactions, follows, circles and achievements; messages in chats (text, images, voice notes); and the photos, videos and audio you upload.
Device and technical data: your device’s push-notification token, IP address and technical logs used to protect the service from abuse, and the app language and version.
How we use it
To run the app’s features (polls, chats, circles, statistics, recommendations, achievements); to send the notifications you choose; to protect against abuse and fraud and to moderate content; and to contact you about your account (for example password resets).
We use profile data (country, city, age, gender, interests) to show relevant sponsored polls and to give a poll’s owner aggregated statistics. Advertisers never see who voted, and any group smaller than 5 people is hidden.
Topic classification of posts runs on our own servers; the text of your posts is not sent to an outside company for that.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We use technical service providers only as far as needed: push-notification delivery (Expo, Google and Apple), email delivery (Resend), GIF search (GIPHY) when you use the GIF feature, and — when payments are enabled for business accounts — a payment provider (Stripe), without us storing your card details.
We may disclose information where the law requires it or to protect the safety of users.
What others can see
Your name, username, photo, bio, interests and achievements appear on your profile. If your account is private, only people you approve can see your posts. Private chat messages are visible only to the two people in the chat. Your email, phone number, date of birth and city are not shown to other users.
Permissions
Camera and photos: to take and upload pictures. Microphone: to record voice messages. Notifications: to send alerts. You can revoke any permission in your device settings at any time.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account from Settings, your personal data and content are permanently removed from our systems. Protected backup copies may remain for up to 30 days before they are replaced automatically. We may keep limited records where the law requires it or to prevent abuse.
Security
Data travels over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), passwords are stored hashed, and administrative access to data is restricted. No method is completely secure, but we work to protect your data.
Children
The app is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you learn that a child under 13 created an account, email us and we will delete it.
Your rights
You can edit your details in your profile and Settings, block or mute users, turn off notification types, and delete your account at any time. To request a copy of your data or ask anything else, contact us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time and will show the date of the latest update at the top.
